Overview
The K-series range of passive colour STN displays feature dual scan display addressing which doubles the refresh rate of single scan panels. In the K6484L display, the use of "Slim-TAB" technology connects the control lines to the display in the most compact and efficient manner. This provides the following advantages:-
Dual scanning: effectively doubles the usual refresh rate of passive colour displays
High contrast image giving a high colour depth
Clearer, brighter colours with excellent picture definition
Fast response time and more colour shades
Compact, lightweight and robust
Together with the combination of C.O.G. technology, the fast fluid liquid crystal and low resistivity I.T.O. ( Indium-Tin Oxide ) electrodes ensure that the image on the display is high quality and high contrast making it extremely clear and easy to read. Mouse pointers do not become "lost" and multiplex smear is dramatically reduced.
The display also includes a DC-DC converter that creates the main drive voltage for the LCD panel. Creating the "unusual" -28 volts for an LCD is often the designer-engineer's most annoying tasks which is elliminated with the use of this display. The contrast voltage ( VCON ) is created by applying between 0.8 and 2.8 volts to the display; this is easily created from 5 volt or 3.3v logic supplies.

Connection Details
Displays should be connected by means of the 31-way data connector and the outside two pins of the 3-way backlight connector ( type number JST: BHR-03VS-1 ). The recommended data connector is a Hirose DF9-31S-IV
Contrast Control
The K6484L-FF contains an integral DC-DC converter providing the 28 volts for the LCD drive. The user-adjustable contrast signal (VCON) should be connected by means of an external potentiometer.
